Are barcodes mandatory in India?
Mandatory for pharma (DGFT Track & Trace), most large retail chains and global exports. Strongly recommended for any branded product going to e-commerce or modern trade.
Can I use free barcodes from the internet?
No. Only GS1-allocated GTINs are accepted by Amazon, Flipkart, Reliance, DMart, Walmart and global retailers. Free/random codes lead to listing rejection.
How many barcodes do I need?
One unique GTIN per SKU + variant (size, flavour, pack). GS1 sells in packs of 100, 1,000, 10,000 etc. — we'll right-size for you.
